PGT Glass Operations Leader Joins FloridaMakes Board

N. VENICE, FL – PGT® Custom Windows + Doors, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PGT Innovations, is proud to announce that Bayne Beecher, a glass operations leader, has been appointed to the FloridaMakes board of directors. FloridaMakes is a nonprofit industry-led partnership that provides services to strengthen Florida’s manufacturing sector.

“Mr. Beecher brings with him a wealth of manufacturing experience in the automotive and building products industries,” said Kevin Carr, CEO, FloridaMakes. “His perspective will be invaluable as we bring more resources to support talent development, technological performance and business growth of Florida’s manufacturers. “We look forward to benefitting from his insights.”

FloridaMakes is part of the nationwide National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP) system that was created to address the needs of local manufacturers, with the mission of supporting the growth and competitive ability of U.S. manufacturing.

“FloridaMakes brings tremendous value to the table for all Florida manufacturers, and as a professional who has been involved with manufacturing for almost 30 years, I am excited about the opportunity to work closer with FloridaMakes to strengthen and expand the potential of Florida’s manufacturing sector,” said Mr. Beecher. “Manufacturing is a powerful economic engine, and it serves us well to have it as a key part of the Florida economy.”

Mr. Beecher joined PGT Custom Windows + Doors in 2008 and has held various leadership positions across the company, including quality systems management, operations management, production planning and control and program management. He also serves as the president of the Sarasota-Manatee Area Manufacturers Association, which advocates on behalf of manufacturers at the local, state and national level. Mr. Beecher is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
